I’ve got a Secret

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.  Proverbs 25:2

I have been trying to figure out how to express the movement I am feeling inside of me.   This is why I decided to start blogging.  I am processing out loud here!  There is a clicking and calibrating and coming into clarity.  It’s kind of a big deal!  On one hand it is BIG and life changing but on the other it is small movements and adjustments that create these changes.  I’m recalibrating my thought life and INTENTION!  Speaking of the power of intention I don’t think most of us fully understand how profoundly it changes the world around us.  I can assure you of one thing: It’s not a placebo effect!  Think about it!  How have the kind INTENTIONS of God changed your life?

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him.     Ephesians 1:9

I’m cooking up a blog about the power of intention and I’ll share that soon!

In some ways I feel I am moving away from the rigidity of the church i grew up in.  It is such an unfamiliar place to me these days. Yet my relationship with Christ is deeper and more exhilarating than ever before.  The old ways gave me a foundation but left me wanting.   I’ve had questions creating friction inside me.  When I ask those questions I am often answered with limitedness and information that isn’t always accurate.  It takes on a box like shape.  But God does not exist in our box.  We put him there so that we can explain away things we are afraid of or uneducated about.   I calculate the ideas I grew up with and in some ways it doesn’t add up to me.  There’s more to the equation.

Can you discover the depths of God? Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?  Job 11:7

For example: Hasn’t God told us to lengthen the cords of our tent?  (Is 54:2) He is expanding our territory.  God used the Israelites to redeem land that was once dedicated to foreign gods.  Everything God created is good yet some of it has been given over to misplaced intentions.  Instead of looking at dark things and getting spooked about it, why don’t we see the light and intent for which it was created and see how it could be redeemed?  After all He is in the business of restoration, renewing and redeeming.  To do a word study on the prefix “re” would give us great insight into God’s character and intentions.  He is beginning a great redeeming of people and concepts and we need to be ready to REceive them.  Better go buy some 2x4s and sheetrock.  He’s going to expand our hearts and minds in order to ready us for kingdom expansion!

It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness. And the light dwells with Him.  Daniel 2:22

We’ve been given a beautiful and intricate blueprint to guide us into the vast mysteries of God.  It is an anchor to our soul and the lens by which we view everything!  I hold tightly to the design that Jesus is the Son of God and that through His death I can have life.  But to live solely in the blueprint leaves me craving more.  This is why He sent the Holy Spirit.  We need the nuts and bolts but we also need the oil.

Father of Lights, illuminate the unlimited mystery and depths of You.
